Why Runtiva Verifies Your Identity (and What to Expect)
Before you deposit, withdraw or enter a contest with a cash prize, Runtiva confirms three things: that you are who you say you are, that you're old enough, and that you're somewhere paid contests are allowed. It's a one-time identity check that usually takes a couple of minutes, plus a quick location check each time money is involved. Free survivor pools and free contests don't need any of it.
When you'll be asked to verify
Signing up only takes your phone number, a one-time code, a username and your email. The app asks you to verify your identity the first time you:
- add money to your wallet,
- withdraw winnings, or
- enter a paid contest, including one that's free to enter but awards a cash prize.
Deposits and withdrawals also need a verified email address, so confirm the link in your inbox early. Survivor pools and free contests (no entry fee and no prize) skip identity verification entirely, so you can play with your group first and verify later if you want to play for cash.
Why verification is required
- The law asks for it. Paid fantasy contests come with a minimum age and are only allowed in certain places. Operators are expected to confirm who their players are and where they're playing from.
- It protects your winnings. Payouts go to the verified account holder, which makes it much harder for anyone else to take over your account and cash out.
- It keeps contests fair. One person, one account. Verification stops people from opening extra accounts to enter the same contest twice or claim the same offer again.

What you'll need
Verification runs inside the app through a third-party identity-verification provider. Have these ready:
- Your legal name, date of birth and home address — typed exactly as they appear on your ID. A nickname or an old address is the most common reason a check doesn't go through.
- A government-issued ID — driver's license, passport or state ID. You might be asked to photograph it.
- A quick selfie — if asked, just to confirm it's really you.
How it works, step by step
- Tap Verify Now. You'll see the prompt on the Verify Your Identity screen when you first try a paid action.
- Enter your details. Then follow any ID or selfie prompts. If you stop partway, your progress is saved and you can pick up with Resume Verification.
- Get your result. Most checks finish in a couple of minutes. If yours needs a closer look, the app shows it as in review, which can take up to 24–48 hours. No action is needed from you while you wait.
- Allow location when asked. Paid contests, deposits and withdrawals confirm where you are each time, using your device's location.
The location check
Paid-contest eligibility follows where you physically are when you enter, not where you live. That's why the app asks for location at the moment you deposit, withdraw or join a paid contest. If the check can't confirm where you are:
- turn location on for Runtiva in your phone's settings,
- turn off any VPN for that step, and
- move somewhere with a clearer GPS signal, then try again.

If verification doesn't go through
- Retry required — usually a blurry document photo, details that don't match your ID, or a step left unfinished. Fix it and tap Retry Verification.
- Failed or declined — tap Contact Support in the app, or email support@runtiva.com. Don't send ID photos or other sensitive numbers by email; support will tell you what's needed.
- Age — if verification shows you don't meet the minimum age, you won't be able to play on Runtiva.

What happens to your information
Your verification details are used to confirm your identity, age and eligibility and to meet legal requirements. Identification data is protected with encryption, and access is limited to the people and service providers who need it. The full details, including your rights over your data, are in the privacy policy. If you want to set limits on your own play, the tools are on responsible gaming.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to verify my identity to play free survivor pools?
No. Survivor pools and free contests (no entry fee and no prize) don't ask for identity verification. You only verify when you deposit, withdraw, or enter a contest that has a cash prize.
What do I need to have ready?
Your legal name, date of birth and home address, entered exactly as they appear on your ID. You might also be asked for a photo of a government-issued ID (driver's license, passport or state ID) and a quick selfie, so have your ID nearby.
How long does verification take?
Most people finish in a couple of minutes. If your details need a manual review, the app shows "in review", which can take up to 24–48 hours. You don't need to do anything while it's in review.
Do I have to verify again for every contest?
No. Identity verification is one-time: once you're approved, it stays approved. Your location is different: it's confirmed each time you deposit, withdraw or enter a paid contest, because what counts is where you are at that moment.
Why does Runtiva need my location?
Paid contests are only offered where they're allowed, and eligibility follows where you physically are, not your home address. The app uses your device's location for paid entries, deposits and withdrawals. Turn off any VPN for that step.
What happens if my verification is declined?
If the app asks you to retry, check that your details match your ID and that your photos are sharp, then try again. If it says verification failed or was declined, tap Contact Support in the app or email support@runtiva.com.
